Aged for eight months, on the lees for four months, this Burgundian-style Chardonnay offers up aromas of light oak tinged with vanilla and almond, as well as chalk, butter and citrus. On the palate, this special wine is both creamy and acidic, demonstrating flavors of butterscotch, sandalwood, lemon zest and underripe tropical fruit. This is the first reserve bottling under the Risdall Ranch name.
Appellation: Willamette Valley
Risdall Ranch Winery was established in 2016, when winemaker Emery Risdall and his father, Bob, became the new owners of Shafer Vineyard Cellars, a Forest Grove winery with almost four decades of local heritage.
The Willamette Valley AVA (American Viticulture Areas) is bounded by the Columbia River to the north and extends to just south of Eugene. The west side of the valley meets the Oregon Coast Range, and the Cascade Mountains hug the east side. Risdall Ranch Winery is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, one of six AVAs within the Willamette Valley AVA.
What better way to celebrate life's milestones than toasting with Oregon wine!
