Blackberry, dark cherry, blueberry, star anise and allspice emerge in the aromas of this intriguing Pinot Noir. Lightly astringent notes of white pepper, red plum, toasted coconut, cranberry and pomegranate play on the palate. This is the estate’s first Pinot Noir vintage under the Risdall Ranch name.
Appellation: Willamette Valley
Risdall Ranch Winery was established in 2016, when winemaker Emery Risdall and his father, Bob, became the new owners of Shafer Vineyard Cellars, a Forest Grove winery with almost four decades of local heritage.
The Willamette Valley AVA (American Viticulture Areas) is bounded by the Columbia River to the north and extends to just south of Eugene. The west side of the valley meets the Oregon Coast Range, and the Cascade Mountains hug the east side. Risdall Ranch Winery is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, one of six AVAs within the Willamette Valley AVA.
