Aromatically driven, this wine, the inaugural vintage under the Risdall Ranch name, opens with the drama of lychee, bubble gum and tropical fruit. Dry and weighty, with a velvety texture, it expands into flavors of Rainier cherry and exotic spice notes on the palate, with perhaps a hint of Asian pear and jasmine. The long, clean finish makes this an excellent wine to pair with exotic foods, particularly Indian cuisine.
Appellation: Willamette Valley
Risdall Ranch Winery was established in 2016, when winemaker Emery Risdall and his father, Bob, became the new owners of Shafer Vineyard Cellars, a Forest Grove winery with almost four decades of local heritage.
The Willamette Valley AVA (American Viticulture Areas) is bounded by the Columbia River to the north and extends to just south of Eugene. The west side of the valley meets the Oregon Coast Range, and the Cascade Mountains hug the east side. Risdall Ranch Winery is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, one of six AVAs within the Willamette Valley AVA.
What better way to celebrate life's milestones than toasting with Oregon wine!
